The Academy

The Champagne International Academy (CIA) was born out of a collective desire among renowned 250 Chefs, Pastry Chefs and Sommeliers across five continents to preserve and enhance the world’s appreciation of Champagne wines. Our mission is to develop the grandeur of Champagne vineyards and highlight their symbol of refinement, excellence, luxury, and celebration. We strive to share our passion for Champagne with our patrons and the younger generations of culinary professionals through various initiatives, such as ‘A Chance for Tomorrow’ campaign. We are also committed to support social and humanitarian causes related to the hospitality industry throught our non for profit organization.

Our Mission

The Champagne International Academy (CIA) is a non-profit organization that seeks to develop the prestige of Champagne vineyards by placing them at the forefront of the international culinary scene. Our mission is to preserve the unique symbolic image of Champagne as a symbol of French lifestyle, celebration and victory.

Our History

Since 1799, Napoleon's armies marched with Champagne which was collected « en route » from the Moët estate. His famous quote was :
« Champagne! In victory, one deserves it, in defeat one needs it! ». His Imperial guards opened Champagne bottles with a sword.
Today, the CIA members continue the tradition with the international non-profit association to coordinate their efforts in championing the value of Champagne.

Our Goals

CIA's academicians aim to spread their passion for Champagne with their customers while promoting its reputation through specific actions. Key among these is the transmission of their knowledge to younger generations through "A Chance for Tomorrow" campaign.
